Seiko duikhorloges Kinetic GMT en SRPA21 oogsten veel bewondering
Duikhorloges bestaan al een jaar of 50. Zo produceerde de Japanse topfabrikant Seiko het eerste exemplaar al in 1965. In de loop der jaren is de functionaliteit van duikhorloges behoorlijk verbeterd. Seiko heeft daarbij altijd een toppositie gehad. Zo oogsten de nieuwe duikhorloges Kinetic GMT en Automatic Diver SRPA21 veel bewondering onder horlogeliefhebbers. De horloges verschijnen in het najaar van 2016, maar er is al enige informatie over bekend.
Samenwerking tussen SEIKO en PADI
Misschien is het je wel eens overkomen: je duikt het water in terwijl je bent vergeten je horloge af te doen. In het verleden betekende dit doorgaans dat je afscheid moest nemen van je horloge. De meeste exemplaren waren namelijk niet waterdicht. Deze tijden zijn voorbij. De Japanse horlogefabrikant Seiko heeft enkele maanden geleden een contract gesloten met de bekende duikorganisatie PADI. PADI is wereldwijd actief, en heeft maar liefst 136.000 duikinstructeurs voortgebracht. Samen hebben de twee bedrijven dan ook een bijzonder groot bereik.
Horloges voor een schone oceaan
SEIKO en PADI sloegen de handen ineen om een zeer sterke en waterbestendig horloge te ontwerpen. In het najaar van 2016 moet de samenwerking leiden tot de komst van de Kinetic GMT en Automatic Diver SRPA21 duikhorloges. Met de productie van deze mooie duikhorloges ondersteunen SEIKO en PADI het ‘Aware Project’, dat zich wereldwijd inzet voor een schone oceaan.
Waterbestendig
Duik- en zwemliefhebbers zijn zeer enthousiast over de duikhorloges van SEIKO. Met de Kinetic GMT en SRPA21 kun je dan ook duiken tot een diepte van maar liefst 200 meter. De waterbestendigheid hebben de horloges te danken aan de onderdelen ‘screw case back’ en ‘screw down kroon’.
Bijzonder ontwerp
Het ontwerp en de werking van beide duikhorloges is indrukwekkend te noemen. Zo bevatten ze een blauwe wijzerplaat met zowel het logo van Seiko als Padi. Naast de tijd wordt ook de dag weergeven. Daarnaast heeft de SRPA21 een model met een rode en blauwe bezel. De Kinetic GMT onderscheidt zich van andere horloges door het speciale kinetische systeem. Hierbij worden kinetische bewegingen automatisch omgezet in elektrische energie. Dit heeft als grote voordeel dat je bijna nooit batterijen hoeft te vervangen.
