Het oude ambacht van de horlogemaker heeft nog steeds zijn charme. Dit blijkt wel uit de populariteit van vintage horloges. Het dragen van mechanische horloges is op dit moment een echte trend. Deze uurwerken zijn van zeer sterke kwaliteit en gaan bijzonder lang mee. Voor een mechanisch horloge kun je onder andere terecht bij het topmerk SEIKO.

Mechanische horloges

Een mechanisch horloge werkt aan de hand van een opwindmechanisme. Er komen dus geen batterijen aan te pas. Om het horloge te laten werken zul je het af en toe moeten opwinden. Bij het vervaardigen van een mechanisch horloge komt veel kijken. Elk onderdeel van het uurwerk wordt namelijk stuk voor stuk opgebouwd. Zo polijst de horlogemedewerker elk stukje zeer precies. De afwerking dient namelijk perfect te zijn. Ook zorgt de horlogemaker voor een mooie gravering en eventueel de toevoeging van kristallen en robijnen. Tenslotte worden de randen van het horloge en de voorkant zorgvuldig afgewerkt. Als het goed is komt het perfect afgewerkte mechanische horloge in de winkel te liggen. De prijs is afhankelijk van het merk en de hoeveelheid ambacht. Ook voor een iets lager budget zijn er mechanische horloges verkrijgbaar.

Mechanisch horloge van SEIKO

Een van de topmerken waar je terecht kunt voor een mechanisch horloge is SEIKO. Zo zorgt het kaliber 6R20 bij veel horlogeliefhebbers voor veel verwondering. De horloges hebben een klassieke uitstraling, en passen uitstekend bij de ‘vintage trend’ in de horlogewereld. Zo zijn de Seiko horloges onder andere verkrijgbaar in de kleuren zwart, bruin en wit. Het binnenste gedeelte van het uurwerk bestaat uit cijfers, die soms ook in het Romeins zijn weergeven. Je hoeft een mechanisch horloge van SEIKO niet zelf op te winden. Het horloge laadt namelijk zelf op wanneer je beweegt met je arm.

Altijd bij de tijd

Het mechanisch horloge biedt een aantal voordelen ten opzichte van andere uurwerken. Zo beschikt het niet over batterijen, waardoor je deze nooit hoeft te vervangen. Een mechanisch horloge is dus nooit leeg, wat je een hoop tijd en ergernis bespaart. Bovendien passen mechanische horloges van topmerken als SEIKO, Fossil en meer uitstekend bij een stijlvolle outfit.
