Met de komst van smartwatches is het horloge veranderd in een kleine computer. Vandaag de dag kun je er mee internetten, bellen, sms’en en spelletjes spelen. De technologische innovaties in de horlogewereld volgen elkaar in rap tempo op. Zo bracht het horlogemerk Guess in 2016 de zeer handige ‘Guess Connect’ op de markt. Een ander topmerk, Casio, richt zich wat betreft smartwatches op de sportwereld. De zogeheten ‘Smart Outdoor Watch’ moet activiteiten buitenshuis vergemakkelijken.

Smart Outdoor Watch

Casio is een van de topmerken dat besloten heeft een smartwatch op de markt te brengen. Deze is op dit moment alleen verkrijgbaar in de Verenigde Staten. Het is te hopen dat de horloge ook in Europa verkrijgbaar te zijn. Bestellen via internet is uiteraard een mogelijkheid om dit bijzondere horloge te bemachtigen. Het is zeer handige smartwatch voor sporters. Zo beschikt het over speciale sensoren die het weer in de gaten houden. Zo tonen ze onder andere de luchtdruk, zodat je als sporter in kunt schatten of het verstandig is om buitenactiviteiten te ondernemen. Ook geeft het horloge de tijd van zonsopgang- en ondergang weer. Daarnaast beschikt de ‘Smart Outdoor Watch’ over een kompas, waardoor verdwalen voorgoed verleden tijd is.

Zuinige smartwatch

De Smart Outdoor Watch van Casio voldoet aan alle eisen die de moderne gebruiker wenst. Zo beschikt het bijzonder genoeg over twee schermen van 320×300 pixels. Deze zijn over elkaar heen gelegd om een zo helder mogelijk beeld te geven. Een zwart-wit scherm is daarbij over een kleurenscherm geplaatst. Door het scherm zwart-wit te maken wordt er namelijk minder energie gebruikt. In het bovenste donkere scherm kun je onder andere de tijd bekijken. Bovendien is het geen probleem als het een keer gaat regenen. De smartwatch is namelijk waterdicht tot 50 meter.

Meet je activiteiten op de fiets

Daarnaast kun je als fietser je activiteiten nauwkeurig in de gaten houden met de ‘Activity Tracker’. Dankzij dit handige hulpmiddel weet je bijvoorbeeld precies waar je fietst, en waar de route naar toe leidt. Daarbij is het handig om vantevoren al een route te bedenken. Vervolgens kun je alle activiteiten op de fiets heel precies meten.
